Over 6700 delegates visited the EAN2018 Congress in Lisbon from June 16-19. For the second year in a row, the European Huntington’s Disease Network had an exhibition stand at the congress, this time together with the European Huntington Association (patients organisation). This worked very well as we were able to give people information from the professional point of view and also from the patient’s organisation. We met and discussed with interested parties from several different countries all over the world including Australia, Philippines, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Greece, Russia, etc. On our Twitter account EHDN@GRANTM we tweeted some photos from the event using the #EAN2018 handle and in this way we were also able to reach many delegates at the congress.
Additional awareness for Huntington’s Disease was raised by a special HD awareness session arranged by the Portuguese and the European Huntington Association as part of the EAN Congress. It was very well attended with high interest from Portuguese families. Talks were given by Jean-Marc Burgunder, Bernhard Landwehrmeyer, Leonor Correia Guedes and Jorge Sequeiros.
Next year’s EAN Congress will be held in Oslo. EHDN looks forward to seeing you there!
